SBHS programme is aligned with global standards including the ones from UK International Health Coaching Association with locally relevant contents, designed to equip SBHS health and wellness coaches to deliver evidence-informed health and wellness coaching in a safe and ethical manner - empowering clients to make sustainable lifestyle changes. As part of the SBHS Health & Wellness Coaches certification programme, this module prepares to-be and practising health and wellness coaches to practice confidently across diverse populations and healthcare as well as community settings, with a strong foundation in cultural competence, including a solid understanding of Singapore health system. Upon completing the module, you will be able to:
· Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and awareness in supporting diverse clients, including language barriers and taboos.
· Guide clients through the Singapore healthcare system, preventive health resources, and community supports.
· Apply cultural intelligence principles to personalise coaching strategies.

Dr Clive Tan is a medical doctor, public health specialist and health sector leader with two decades of clinical and leadership experience in the healthcare sector. He is currently working with Tan Tock Seng Hospital (part of NHG Health) and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Singapore.
He holds an MBBS from Singapore and a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Johns Hopkins University. He is based in Singapore and is a well-known and trusted professional within the health sector.
His work also extends to the region through both his professional work with the World Health Organization’s Western Pacific Regional Office, his network as a Senior Atlantic Fellow with the Equity Initiative programme, and his academic partnerships with regional universities. He publishes widely, speaks at regional and international conferences, and is a speaker and key opinion leader at conferences, on radio and television, for a wide range of health-related topics.
Miss Nurliyana Daros holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the National University of Singapore, Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health. She is a lecturer at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, specializing in the teaching of interdisciplinary and collaborative core courses in the area of healthy living and wellbeing.
In her sociological and public health research, as well as in her policy work and community engagement, she focuses on designing a more inclusive future, especially for youths, women and vulnerable populations. Certified in The Sphere Standards for Humanitarian Response and trained in Project Evaluation, Nurliyana was involved as a United Nations Volunteer Analyst for the Global Information Management, Assessment & Analysis Cell on COVID-19.
Nurliyana is a recipient of NUS Dean's Medal and Prize and the 2021 APEC Healthy Women, Healthy Economies Research Prize for her Master's research, titled "Qualitative Study on Diabetes Management among Low-Income Women in Singapore”. She has also presented her findings as a Raffles Fellow at the Raffles Dialogue on the Future of Human Wellbeing and Security (2018) and the 19th International Conference on Integrated Care (2019), San Sebastian, Spain.
